Hey, y'all!
I’m truly so sorry about this, but unfortunately I do not have a newsletter for you this week. Orientation at Stanford has been going strong all week and I did not have time to write. I do promise that this next year’s newsletters will be awesome – you’ll learn how to help your kid get into a top 20 school from my thousands of classmates at Stanford. I’ve already had great conversations and can’t wait to share them with you.
For all of my new subscribers, I’m deeply apologetic that this is your first newsletter from me, but here are some of my older newsletters that I’d recommend you read for a look into what a typical week would look like:
On academics
• Do educational apps really work?
• How generative AI will transform education
• Why (and how) your kid should use AI to study
• Austin’s App Analysis (the adaptive apps I’ve used and how to pick one for your kid)
On connecting with your kid
• The three equations you need to connect with your kid
• How to intentionally build a relationship with your kid, even if they’re angry at you
• How an online test can save your family’s internal communication
On life skills
• What is a Masterpiece? And why should your kid have one?
• How to help your kid get better at receiving feedback
• How Jayson Tatum used YouTube to become one of the NBA’s greatest players
On mental health
• How texting saved my relationship with my parents
• The science of cognitive distortions (or twisty thoughts)
Thanks for reading. Go crush the week! See y'all on Sunday.
